The Tarajal hourly forecast: when the queue is shortest, day by day
If you can choose the time, this is the golden rule: cross at midday on weekdays o at dawn if you go on foot. Avoid mornings (7–11 h) and afternoons (17–21 h), especially Fridays and Sundays.
The app calculates every day the best time to cross with a waiting curve per hour for each crossing and direction (entering Ceuta or leaving to Morocco), adjusted with real-time community reports.
| Time band | Wait | For whom |
|---|---|---|
| 0–6 h | Very low | Pedestrians: the calmest time of day |
| 7–11 h | High | Avoid if not essential (workers and trade) |
| 12–16 h | Moderate-low | The best window for vehicles and pedestrians on weekdays |
| 17–21 h | High | Returns: the worst afternoon band |
| 22–23 h | Low | Good night option (vehicles until 00:00) |
Monday to Thursday: the calmest days. Midday = crossing with almost no wait.
Friday: in the afternoon many people leave for Morocco: high wait in the «leaving Ceuta» direction.
Saturday: traffic spread out; in the morning shoppers come in and at night they return.
Sunday: the worst day to return to Ceuta: the diaspora comes back in the evening.
August and the Operación Paso del Estrecho: multiply vehicle queues at weekends.
Entering Ceuta: best between 12:00 and 15:00, or at dawn on foot.
Leaving to Morocco: best at midday or at night; avoid Friday afternoon.
